Currently all new users need to submit a request to get their ORCID verified by the RSD admin team before they can log in and get access to the Turing RSD. This is frustrating and potential will be a barrier to new users.

RSD admin say they will look into other log in/verification methods for UK institutions.

Agree on the above that getting the ORCID logging working was an unnecessary hurdle. Once that was done though, I found making a page for a project of mine trivially easy. Paste in the GitHub link and a link to the README, write a 300 character summary, done. Could of course put more effort into it, but that's sufficient for a basic page.

When discussing this with others, one question that's come up is how "finished" a project should be before it's added to the directory. It would be helpful to understand expectations around this.

In the interests of encouraging more projects to submit, it might also be helpful to communicate how much effort is really involved to others in REG. It sounds like it's not a great deal, but my instinct would be to allow an afternoon for something like this. If it's less, that would be nice to know.
