Just gave it a try on Manjaro. Works flawlessly. Please post the output of |
Thanks! Here's the output: Click to Expand..

Weird because the sofile /usr/lib/albert/libwidgetsboxmodel.so is there. |
Does it work if you run |
No, doesn't work that way too.
|
does |
It does
|
Have you tried to uninstall, clean the system from albert files and install it again? I wonder if you have leftovers of former builds |
Yes, I uninstalled-reinstalled a couple of times, removed ~/.local/share/albert, and ~/.config/albert directories. No luck :( |
Have you ever built the package from source? Did you check |
Tried installing it from AUR, with yay when I first installed it a month back. It required virtualbox as dependency, so cancelled the install, and ended up adding your OBS repo and installing it from there. That's the closest I've come to building it. v0.17.6 worked well. Issue started when albert updated to v0.18.0 this morning. Uninstalled albert, checked for leftovers ( Edit: Did check Throws up same error when starting with a clean slate:

Same problem here, without Wayland.

I experience the same problems on Linux Mint 21 (Ubuntu 22.04 LTS) after upgrade from 0.17.6 to 0.18.1 via the repo.
On my other computer, v0.17.6 seems to run flawlessly with Mint 21. Is there any chance to get an amd64_x86 deb package of v0.17.6 for xUbuntu 22.04? I could not find any old packages at the OBS site. I also did not manage to build v0.17.6 from source again because of dependency problems with libpython. Unfortunately, I understand little of C/C++/Qt development so please tell me how I can help to debug this issue. |
Having the same issue as @jottgee. Have Linux Mint 21.1, but in my case it's a fresh install, no previous configuration is present. Basically the same output with |
Same thing building 0.18.1 from source for Fedora 37 (because the OBS build did not work):
Edit 2: I see Edit 3: It doesn't want to load the default font:
|
Ty. Instead of downgrading I'd rather try to find the problem such that I can hotfix it asap. Since it works on arch I'd guess that there is some runtime dependency missing. I'd appreciate some help here. |
Sorry deleting posts aggressively to not distract future readers. |
Facing the same on Arch, installed using the provided |
I dont think that this is the problelm. Can you plese post the strace ? |
Here my strace : strace.txt |
Functions as expected! Whatever you did, it now works with the provided ZST. |
Now tried installing the +377 version, and it works fine, thanks for fixing the issue @ManuelSchneid3r! The only difference I see now is that there are no media controls plugin, but I will open a new issue for it. |
@seliver please don't. There are dozens of plugins looking for a maintainer and 0.18 port |
Still doesn't work for me on EndeavousOS
|
Still don't work for Arch. I install to repo binary.
|
OBS does not correctly increase pkgrel. just ported aur and awiki and released 0.18.4 let me know if this is still an issue afterwards |
Edit: Deleted Previous Comment 0.18.4 AUR build Works flawlessly. Thanks for all your work @ManuelSchneid3r |
So sad. I try to 0.18.5 in AUR. They still no working in Arch.
|
Looks like the aur package is missing the qt scxml module which should contain the qstatemachine package |
@ManuelSchneid3r Thank you! Its working in Acrh. I installed to the |
I do not maintain the AUR packages. The packager is in the chats. He said that he just fixed it. |
I do have that installed as well, on Arch, still not working for me qt6 packages
albert -d
while albert is running , output of albert toggle
clicking on albert show from systray coz it to segfault as in earlier log albert --report
|
this makes no sense. if it segfaults there can be no running instance. |
the AUR package maybe if i didnt explain it clearly, i ran |
Can you please check if this happens with the official repos as well? |
compiled from source, and same behaviour again albert -d
|
@Iss-in I think you can try reinstall the |
its working now, seems like last update in aur solved it, altho it somehow borked my all custom extensions as well. willve to spend some time with them now :P |
Dudes please open issues if you have problems. I often loose the overview of buried, hijacked and neceobumped issues. I thought everything is fine. |
@mo3et did you have to install something to make it work? That's not how it should be. The package should pull dependencies as necessary |
Yep.They also same problems. The dependencies are not true pull. I installed from official repo.
|
https://build.opensuse.org/package/view_file/home:manuelschneid3r/albert/PKGBUILD?expand=1 Line 23. What did you have to install? By official you mean AUR? |
Can you please post |
Yes. I follow this guide to install in my fresh Manjaro. The error is the same as in Arch. But after installing before update report
now report
|
this is what I changed. Good, fortunately it worked for you, because OBS has problems respecting the pkgrel field in PKGBUILDS and did not trigger an update on machines, because it is still 0.18.13-0 (should be 0.18.13-2) |
Since this issue has been hijacked for a lot of other problems ill lock this issue. Its hard to keep the overview over the open issues this way. please open new issues. reports and stdout are important for debugging |
