The whole thing needs rewrite as there are two distinct approaches:

installation using the system package manager

  1. Debian based distributions
  • tested on the following distributions (Debian 10, Debian 11, Debian 12, Ubuntu 18.04, Ubuntu 20.04, Ubuntu 21.04)
  1. Red Hat based distributions
  • YUM package manager (tested on CentOS 7.9, CentOS 8.4, AlmaLinux 8.4, Rocky Linux 8.4, Oracle Linux 8.4)

  • DNF package manager (tested on Fedora 34)

installation using the updater script

  • tested on openSUSE Leap 15.3, Manjaro 21.0, Mageia 8, Alpine 3.14, Solus 4.3, as well as on the distributions mentioned in point 1)
