MS SQL Server doesn't support regular expression features directly. However, it can register .NET CLR assemblies to extend its capability. This helps provide regular expression functionalities for MS SQL servers.
This runs on .NET Framework 3.5 or higher, which supports MS SQL Server 2008 or later.
