Minutes:

• Joe: the OMP's z15 installation is getting close
  • Ready to engage Bruce Gilkes who administers the community VMs provided for the z Xplore environment at Marist
  • There is a status page: https://tac.openmainframeproject.org/programs/infrastructure
• Joe & Evan: would like to create a new repository At Ambitus for sharing open source samples and examples
  • IBM focus on security vetting is an obstacle for sharing OSS examples with clients
  • Create a repository for samples and examples that illustrate how to use open source packages
  • Have met with John Mertic to verify that this is a good use of Ambitus and the OMP
• Joe: summer internships are opening up soon
  • We haven't used interns in the past for lack of a clear mission for them
  • With the new z15 installation, we now have a platform for them to work, so this is viable
• Leonard & Frank: Pyracf update
  • Development and test of the next beta continues
  • Frank is going to fol.ow up with Henri (wizardofzos) to merge his code with pyracf from POK
  • A merged project builds community, possible intern opportunity
• Joe & Frank: zTron updates
  • Code is being re-factored, and isn't ready for sharing yet, but may be next TSC meeting
• Frank: We should advertise Ambitus activities on Steven Perva's System Z Enthusiasts Discord channel

  • Started when Jim asked John Mertic if we had customer data to work with for AI configurations
  • Workgroup is to see if there is a role the OMP can play here
