I am trying to create a standard reinforcement layer spacing bar in FreeCAD:
I can create the spacer bar itself from a wire (the shape is correctly created), however its length cannot be calculated. I assume it is so because the bar cannot be shown on a single plane. If possible it would help a lot to assign a 'base-plane' to two arbitrarily selected(?) sections in the middle and allow for the subsequent sections to move out of the base-plane. This way the bars could be spaced out perpendicularly to the base-plane. (I have yet to find the actual python script that does this calculation.)
Could you please have a look into it?
Cheers!
