The flag was officially changed (addition of red stripes) in 2017, but the official specification for the changed flag was only published in May 2020. Our current flag was based on the new (2017) description but not the new (2020), precise specification. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flag_of_Mauritania
The Taliban is now in charge and have replaced and outlawed the old tricolor flag. On the bright side, the SVG is now smaller than 50 kB...

The shade of blue in the French flag (as more frequently used) was apparently reverted to the pre-1974 value in 2020, but I'm not sure if this is worth updating:

(Unlike the change to the flag of Afghanistan, this is a cosmetic change, and unlike the change to the flag of Mauritania, this is a bit of a back-and-forth real-world "Wikipedia edit war", rather than a codification of something that wasn't well-defined until now.)
