SUMMARY

Since this repo is a template, I think we should license it liberally such as MIT or BSD. otherwise, Apache 2 licensed collections can't use this as their template due to licensing.

Things that need to be done to address this:

  • Explanation that the license (GPLv3+) is not the license of the template but only an example.
  • Add liberal license text for whoever uses the template
  • Get permission from past contributors to license their contributions under the liberal license
  • Probably want to link to something which outlines GPL responsibilities when writing non-module plugins (Needs to be gplv3+ when writing those because they import pieces of ansible which are GPL-v3+).
