How to correctly branch, join and use the output of the selected branch?

Greetings, I've trying to build DAG that branches, joins and uses the output from the selected branch in the last task.

Currently I use the following:

        arg = next(filter(None, arg))

branch_join_test()

Is there a better way than having to use arg = next(filter(None, arg)) inside the end task? Via the task dependency code?
