  • move user manual images to non-archaic location
  • Fix Claus' xref example workaround with one that looks correct
  • Try to make the choice between "edit this page" for simple changes and the more complex process easier to see
  • rewrite the instructions on updating the website after a release to be more complete and to apply to any subproject release.

cd docs;mvn install passes and local build against the PR branch looks good.
