The 1.5.6 downloads should be removed.
I don't like the PR as is since it also reworks the download page, which is unrelated to the 1.8.0 release.
We intentionally have a fold for optional components since for multiple releases this blows up the download page. |
Finally, please add screenshots like we do for every other PR that restructures things. |

I don't think we've ever done this before in past announcements, but would it make sense to also state something about savepoint compatibility?
According to the recent discussion about backwards compatibility in terms of Flink context, savepoint compatibility is something the users should be informed about.
@zentol You're right, I'll open a separate PR just for the download page 👌 (Also, I'm aware some of the links are not yet correct, these where intended more as placeholders.) |
I created a PR just for the downloads page: #180 (with screenshots) |

Thanks for the review, @alpinegizmo! And thanks for using the suggestion feature, with this it's super easy for me to just commit the changes as a batch right in Github. |

2019-4-9?
This reorganizes the Downloads page a bit. The relevant information for one given release is now in one place: binary release, additional components, alternative binaries (for different Hadoop versions). The layout was simplified a bit to make additional components more visible, most links are now plain links, there is no fold-out section for additional components anymore.
