Shiny New Open-Source Women: Your First Pull Request

This repository is for participants in Your First Pull Request to use during the hands-on part of the workshop, and to share resources with each other to help us all become better programmers!

How to find a project:

ITWorld: 7 open source projects to cut your teeth on - http://www.itworld.com/print/356932 This article has a lot of valuable information about bigger projects that are beginner-friendly.

RailsBridge, a totally open source co-learning organization: http://www.railsbridge.org This volunteer-run series of weekend workshops on front-end and Ruby on Rails development is what introduced me to collaboration.

Women Who Code: http://www.meetup.com/Women-Who-Code-SF/ WWC is an awesome, language-agnostic organization. The weekly newsletters alone will connect you with tons of information and events to help you learn more and be better.

OpenHatch.org: OpenHatch is a non-profit dedicated to getting more people involved in open source. As of 14 November 2013, they're tracking 777 open source projects.
