Description of Problem

Missing Title
(Clearly describe the issue you are experiencing here, and fill in the necessary details below)

Details

Most of the images display the title as they should but in the first section, Class one, third column, second and third image do not.
(items 10 and 11 of 38). If you hover over them the tool-tip shows the title and the title is coded in the HTML. I cannot see what I have done wrong. Can you have a look at this?

Hi, it appears that WordPress may be having trouble retrieving metadata (title, etc.) for certain images from your site's media library.

Here are some potential solutions:

Re-upload the problem image(s)

  1. Remove the problematic image from the post - ensure that both the link and image thumbnail are removed.
  2. Rename the image file on your computer (to avoid name conflicts in your media library) - ensure that there are no spaces, or other problematic characters in the file name.
  3. Upload the newly-renamed image to your site's media library - add metadata (title, caption, etc.).
  4. Add the new image to the post.
  5. Save post.
  6. View post to see if new image's metadata is displayed in the lightbox when the link is clicked.

Link to Attachment URLs

  1. Use the "Attachment Page" option when linking to an image from your site's media library in the post.
  2. Save post.
  3. View post to see if metadata is displayed in lightbox when linking to media's attachment URL.

Notes

  • The title metadata is only set on the images' title attribute. Ideally, the title should set on the image's alt attribute for accessibility. Setting the alt attribute will also allow this value to be used as a fallback in the lightbox per SLB's title metadata precedence.
  • Please include list of other active plugins in the message itself (i.e. not in a separate file) - such files are not opened.

Please let me know if you are still experiencing an issue after testing out the above solutions and I would be glad to take another look.

Thanks for having a look
I have reloaded the offending images and they now work
I found 2 things that you might want to consider
Some of the images I "editted" using WordPress
One of the images was suffixed .jpeg rather that .jpg

Glad to hear the images are now working.

Can you provide a bit more detail on how you edited the images using WordPress?

in Media Library, edit image
You can rotate and scale the image and it is stored in some strange way...

Thank you, I am familiar with WordPress' media editing functionality.

For clarification, I am curious about the type of edits you performed on the problem images, so that I can look into whether your specific issue can be reproduced.

Thanks.

I scaled one, reducing the size and I rotated one, I might have performed both processes on the same image in one case
Our limit is 1000 wide by 700 pixels high
At least on image was a bit bigger than 700 high - maybe 900
If you want to reproduce what I did you could try doing all three, rotate one, reduce one and reduce and rotate one
When I do this WordPress suffixes a number on the image URL: https://ebps.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/Elvis-adjusted2-e1648628311877.jpg

I think I have found the problem - if you now refer to the original: https://ebps.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/Elvis-adjusted2.jpg it cannot find the title, possibly the title is only associated with the editted version and it is no longer possible to add the title to the original
