r3new is a bash script tool designed for renaming multimedia files. By default, it rename files using their
MD5 hash (7 chars) and adds a prefix indicating the file type: "VID" for video, "IMG" for images and "AUD"
for audio. however, this option can be disabled usign the -t false
parameter (defalut is true). alternatively
user can specify a custom prefix for file names instead of using the file hash with the -p <prefix>
parameter. \

- rename the files using the hash of the file itself and appending the prefix indicating the file type
./r3new.sh -d /path/to/the/directory
- disable the prefix that identifiles the file type
./r3new.sh -d /path/to/the/directory -t false
- rename the files with a specified prefix
./r3new.sh -d /path/to/the/directory -p pictures
the script relies on tput to hide the cursor. the following dependencies are optional
