giterate, a thin interactive wrapper for git. Mainly it allows you to
filter status by a regexp, and to use numbers instead of file names.

$ ./giterate
git> status .
  0:   ?? giterate
git> add 0
git> s
  0:   A  giterate
git> commit -am "initial"
[master (root-commit) 61bbda4] "initial"
 1 files changed, 73 insertions(+), 0 deletions(-)
 create mode 100755 giterate

git> log
commit 61bbda48e55b46223dbe870f1178e5830f6c998d
