ideas and stuff from abraham and https://abrahamjuliot.github.io/creepjs

  • computed style
  • iframe properties [same as my window property concept: but using an iframe is way cleaner]
  • getHTMLElementVersion [good start to my element FPing ideas]
  • webgl
  • webRTC
  • audio - I see lots of new things like DetuneMax
  • abrahamjuliot/creepjs@654e921

from abraham: Here's the HTMLElement goods =)

const getHTMLElementVersion = () => {
  return new Promise(resolve => {
    try {
      // create element
      const id = 'html-element-version'
      const element = document.createElement('div')
      element.setAttribute('id', id)

      // append element to dom
      document.body.appendChild(element)

      // get rendered element
      const htmlElement = document.getElementById(id)

      // get property keys in element object
      const keys = []
      for (const key in htmlElement) {
        keys.push(key)
      }
      return resolve(keys)
    } catch (error) {
      return resolve(undefined)
    }
  })
}

getHTMLElementVersion().then(response => console.log(response))

webgl

Here's the webgl script :)

  • promise based: Promise.all([ getWebgl('webgl'), getWebgl('webgl2') ])
  • includes version 1 diffs
  • captures webgl2 new methods
  • try...catch built in and tested in TB
  • added api documentation

good lord I hope to one day get back to this and add some of the new things I want to do

@abrahamjuliot FYI: https://privacy-test-pages.glitch.me/index.html - this is DDG's little test suite, repo is https://github.com/duckduckgo/privacy-test-pages

The fingerprinting page might hold some new ideas. I see

  • PerformanceNavigationTiming.nextHopProtocol - (string) - "h2"
  • goodness only knows what document.fonts.check is meant to be: just seems to return everything as true?
  • audio FP seems more involved (than TZP, original OpenWMP)
  • wheel - (object) - { "deltaX": 0, "deltaY": 119, "deltaZ": 0, "deltaMode": 0 }

Nice. I'll take a closer look at that.

document.fonts.check or FontFaceSet.check() is pretty much a built-in font detector and incredibly fast, but FF (and Safari) return true for everything. As far as I know, the spec implies false is returned in some cases and then true for misspellings/gibberish. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

@abrahamjuliot is your element code above up to date?

Yes. Here's a simplified version (less brackets).

getHTMLElementVersion = async () => {
    try {
      // create element
      const id = 'html-element-version'
      const element = document.createElement('div')
      element.setAttribute('id', id)

      // append element to dom
      document.body.appendChild(element)

      // get rendered element
      const htmlElement = document.getElementById(id)

      // get property keys in element object
      const keys = []
      for (const key in htmlElement) {
        keys.push(key)
      }
      return keys
    } catch (error) {
      return
    }
}

getHTMLElementVersion().then(response => console.log(response))

https://github.com/arkenfox/TZP/blob/3e7165d02043a3c248b10039b06cd46a483bd320/js/elements.js .. IDK about this async stuff, imma going to keep using promise/resolve
