I have found this is a recurring challenge for many people, myself included. There may be a need for a chapter (or a few slides) about how to diagnose the reasons for procrastination and give some actionable suggestions to address this challenge.

This is a good point! Everyone could suffer from procrastination!

  • Deadline could be the painkiller, like you can mark the deadline of a task. Just get it done once the calendar pops out :)
  • Seeing the delay of your work could jeopardize the impacts of the to-be-published paper/project could also resolve this issue, I guess.

How to detect that?

  • I believe everyone has the feeling. How to systematically detect that - is an open question.
  • Any suggestions?
