This directory contains the UART project to be presented by Frank Bruno at SpaceX. The directory structure is as follows:

present/ Presentation PPTX
rtl/ RTL Source code in Verilog
rtl/old/ Contains an alternative cpu interface, not debugged
sim/ Simulation directory
sim/tests/ Tests for the UART
stim/ Testbench in verilog, build list, tasks

The UART is structured as follows:
tb_uart.v Testbench
uart.v Top level of the UART
uart_cpu.v CPU interface
sync_fifo.v Synchronous FIFO
async_fifo.v Asynchronous FIFO (An example, not used in the design)

To run the simulations, change to sim/
runsim -a
Runs all the tests under the sim/tests/ directory. Tests must be in the form:
test.h for uncompressed test
test.h.gz for compressed tests

There is little error checking, so make sure they are named properly

runsim -f <test.h | test.h.gz>

Will run a single test

When runsim completes, if the test passed, it will be listed in the file "passed", if it fails, it will be in "failed".

The log file will be stored in the results/ directory.

There is a cleanup script in the sim directory: 'cleanup'
