Pre-release

This is a macOS universal port. Tested on Intel and M1.

This comes with plug.tga, HomeworldSDL.big and Update.big. Put those two files plus the rest of your commercial Homeworld files from either the remaster or the original inside the Library/Application Support/Homeworld directory. To get to that, open Finder, click 'Go' and hold down the 'Option/Alt' key and it will appear in the list.

For Raider Retreat, please put the same three files included along with the content of your Raider Retreat installation into Library/Application Support/Raider Retreat.

It is not codesigned so codesign it yourself.

Pre-release - Hiigara 1.1

Pre-release
  1. Project fixes
  2. Code cleanups
  3. Dynamic vsync support
  4. SDL GameController support
  5. Removal of the /opt directories that were hardcoded
  6. Enabling the SDL2 framework to be rpath'd into the binary and bundle

This is a pre-release, the internal version is still 1.0 until complete. This bundle is NOT codesigned however I have removed the local signage, so it should be enough to allow gatekeeper to run it after you put your homeworld data files into the 'Resources' directory inside the bundle.

You will need:

  • Homeworld.big
  • HW_Comp.vce
  • HW_Music.wxd
  • Update.big

You will need Rosetta 2 for this as it is an Intel build due to a memory issue.

Hiigara is a fork of Garden of Kadesh but heavily modified to play almost exactly like the original, but with memory leak's, stack smashing and proper native fullscreen added / fixed.

I have added an Intel macOS bundle, however it is NOT codesigned so will not work well unless you remove the local signature from the bundle. You will need to have Rosetta 2 installed on M1/M2 macOS machines.

To play, add the Homeworld or Homeworld Remaster files into the 'Resources' directory. Please see the README file within the bundle Resources for more info or read the README file in this repository for more detailed instructions.
