Hoping this won`t get delayed because of current events (covid-19)

@Prototyp8 I dont think the virus will slow things down too much. They managed to get the server finished and online during this lockdown period and most of this implementation process is correspondence based.

@mikestef9 Hi Mike, do you have any estimate on when EKS for Cape Town should be ready?

In the Bahrain servers they had the same thing that's happening here...they opened the issue and someone put in in you're working on it then 10 days later the issue was closed and bahrain had EKS 🙌

Hey everyone,

Please refer to this roadmaps FAQs to get more information on the meaning of different roadmap categories. We are unable to provide more specific timelines in this public forum.

EKS treats each new AWS region launch as a critical feature, so this is a high priority for the team. Keep in mind that each EKS cluster consists of a single tenant control plane that spans 3 AZs, and we have a high internal bar for security and reliability to meet before adding support for a new region. The next update on this issue will be moving the status from "We're Working On It" to "Coming Soon".

Hey @mikestef9 , If I may ask, how long did it take that EKS was available in the Bahrain Region and do game server require EKS for them to run on the AWS Clouds?

P.S.
Really interested in these things and so on! (Coding, etc)

Brazer2 commented Apr 27, 2020

@Qavy Bro he literally said he cannot tell us more about the timeline. If you read the key it says once they update it to "coming soon" it can take a few days to 2 months.

It's here! Very happy to announce that EKS is now generally available in the AWS Africa Cape Town (af-south-1) region! Note that this launch also includes support for AWS Fargate.
