…here still needs tests, replace redirect specific helper functions with core apis wehre appropriate, code clean up doc blocks and documentation in general.

Also moved as many aesthetic styles as possible so they only live in skin.css. This should make the theme easier to override and prevent unneeded styles if a dev would like to omit a color or style, they won't have to reset it.
