I looked into doing it and applied a few attempts, but haven't got anything to work yet.

It looks like, when replacing content in the sublime view, ST3 will do it's best to retain the cursor position by default. Are you able to test this your side by installing this plugin in ST3?

I don't see this as being an issue anymore in ST3, and I don't think it's worth me trying to build this in for ST2, so I'm going to close this ticket.
