I really, really enjoy this application! I have a singular annoyance that is completely negatable, but led me to a really creative idea for the next version of this application. (Should you wish to expand it's capabilities)
I use multiple sound cards. I have some that are just for me when I stream, and others that stream-lab uses. Since I cannot tell the application which sound card to play from, it just so happens to always play on my stream. This isn't horrible per-say it's just the notification (My favorite non-negotiable feature) ends up always being audible for the stream viewers as well. I'm afraid it might annoy people eventually, and encourage them not to speak in chat.
I would prefer if I had the option to set which sound card to use in the settings was it's output method, rather then it defaulting and choosing on it's own. Most streamers use multiple sound cards for this exact reason, I can listen to music and watch you-tube videos on my pc, that my stream never hears. Or have a discord call on the side, and just mute my stream labs mic.
At any rate my hopes would be for the following feature:
1.) set the audio card to whatever you wanted with the intent for streamers could mute out the notification sound for viewers.
2.) full send, and lean into the notification to viewers by allowing the application to fully customize the sound experience to
either;
A.) play a singular sound file(the default ones provided or customized/uploaded)
B.) (my favorite)A range of sounds within a predesignated folder.
C.) a combination of both, explained in detail below.
In this idea's final form:
1.) Notifications would only play if the person in chat was following the channel (This being the default sound from A) play a singular sound file(default or customized).
2.) Allow users special sounds to people who subscribed (from a predesignated list). letting them choose which sound they want to berate me with. =D
3.) Then of course the dealers choice option where I have my file folder of sounds that play at random. for example how I would personally use this idea I would put in the file folder all of the Navi fairy "Hey" "Listen" "Hello" sounds from legend of zelda OOC. Then it chose those sound at random while I played the game every-time someone said something.
Thank you for taking the time to read this Baffler and making this application it works really well for me on windows 11. I really hope you update to include sound cards at the bare minimum=D OH, also a simple clear chat command would be cool. Sometimes the overlay fills up so much it just takes over the screen and I have to exit out of the application and restart it to get my screen back. This also wouldn't be a big deal if I had hotkeys that expanded and minimized the chat to my set "default" state. I usually keep it in the upper right of my screen almost fully collapsed, and then drag it out when I get a notification. Anyway I'm yacking too much now.
You can find me on discord renegade5152 if you wanna chat bout the idea's. I have some experience in python and c+ so I can help if you need it. Later!
