"Please download and install the WebView2 Runtime to use this app. The app will refresh after install"
I click on the link but I get this popup after trying to run the webview file:

Could this be because I don't have Microsoft Edge installed?

You don't need Edge installed, just the runtime. I've tested this on other machines and haven't ran into the issue. What version of Windows are you using?

I'm on Windows 10 22H2. Thanks for the response though, now I know that it probably IS something up with my system and not your overlay (although one of the older versions I was using was totally running fine without this webview2 runtime thing...)

I kinda removed everything edge-related from my system, since it's bloatware. Issue is that windows was so keen on keeping this bloatware "installed" on people's systems that my system still recognises everything-edge as "installed", except it's obviously not... not sure how to install the runtime back again if my system already consiters it installed... even tried the troubleshooter but I have no options to repair the files.

edit: Nevermind just had to run the installer as admin... what a typical thing to happen LOL.

Everything works after running the installer as admin...................

Hi @CodeScriptDave , I did the same as you do, using Win10 22H2 and removing all ms edge related apps haha.

This is perhaps for other people that got the same problem. I found a way around without needing to install as admin by using this called Evergreen Standalone Installer. I am not sure why it is different, I think the one that provided in Transparent Twitch Chat Overlay is the online installer and not offline installer (only my assumption). Hope that helps :)
