I had a PR in to update this area of documentation last week, but it was determined that we really need to better document Lager configuration in general, which would include adding the syslog specific bits.

This is all discussed in #222.

I'd suggest it's better to put out enough documentation to use syslog now that we've announced it's supported, rather than wait for a significant rewrite of the lager docs. "We now offer syslog, but good luck figuring out how to use it."
