For the above to happen a (require 'ido-ubiquitous) is enough, you do not even need to swich it on like (ido-ubiquitous-mode +1) as prelude-ido.el does.
Not sure, if this is the right place to report this conflict. However, it is surely a place to know how to avoid it.

You should report this on ido-ubiquitous's issue tracker, as Prelude simply uses it without any modifications. By disabling Prelude's ido modules you'll solve your immediate problem. Alternatively - you can just comment out the problematic code in it.
