Uploads stuck on YouTube at "Preparing Upload", a game title bug and requests #36
Comments
New link because now I am having an upload error: https://www.dropbox.com/s/pmvxbxfglyvd1nn/logfile.zip?dl=0 Not my day, it seems! |
You need to remove your account and readd it in youploader. Seems YT has deauthorized it. No worries your Templates etc. Won't get deleted. However you should remove all uploads first |
Fixed it. But I spoke too soon on the faster upload speed, now back down to an abysmal 255-300. Not sure what the bottleneck is. Here are my specs, by the way: http://www.thejessachannel.com/p/faq.html Edit: I got my upload speed back by deleting youploader and copying it back. Using zip version. I also uninstalled java and reinstalled both 32 and 64 bit. I am using Windows 7 64-bit. Now to wait 9 hours to see if the first problem I reported ( stuck on 0% preparing upload) is still a problem. |
I'm not sure what causes the upload speed issue, I can never reproduce it since it is fine on my end, it is always possible that YT is slow atm. As for those images you posted this is entirely out of my hand and is inherently a YouTube/YT Api issue. |
I have been doing some testing today. I have a guess as to what the problem is. I need to have 32bit java installed because Mod Organizer, a Skyrim program, does not recognize 64bit java. I noticed that my speed increased with 64bit java, but then I reinstalled 32bit and bam, back to slow speed. Also, I noticed that when I reinstalled 64bit (thinking an uninstall and reinstall might help), the speed still did not improve - UNTIL I reinstalled Youploader (deleted files in install folder and copied back files in zip). So my conclusion is that being able to specify which java version to use in the program would help, or maybe telling the program to always looks for 64bit version? I tested several times, the results are reproducible. Edit: So yeah, I was finally able to get both versions working by installing 32-bit on a different drive and 64-bit in the default installation. So it looks as if this program requires 64-bit for correct speed, but defaults to 32-bit if that java version is installed in default installation path. Also, one has to know how to find and download 64-bit as the default download from the website is 32-bit. I hope this helped. |
Adding a new comment, to keep previous one from being too long and confusing. So, I thought all was well, so I deleted my uploading file and put in the same one (so I could add metadata and just to test the process from beginning to end) and bam, slow speed. No other change was made. So I did these steps:
I have two files in queue, I wonder if speed will keep up between one file and the next. I need to get these files up, my subs are waiting...so will check back in, hopefully all this information will help you reproduce this problem on your end. We can Skype if you want to troubleshoot in real time. |
I have now tested with 32bit and 64bit JDK installs to no effect. Can you upload a log from the slow "episodes"? |
Hi, same here:
Log from 0.7 with much errors ( ;o) ) incl. 0.9 |
ofc Had more Settings done for more debugs and a fresh log First test:
Second Test:
//Edit, typos |
Okay I see your issue now! Will look into it! |
The issue with the playlists should be solved in the latest dev version if you want to try it out. https://build.becast.at/job/YouPloader/165/ |
Seems like youploader was not able to fetch the cookie properly. Remove and re-add your account please. |
That does not seem to be from a fresh database, please add the debug param as explained above, start with a new db, add your account and post the log please |
renaming the 080.jar? |
wait, let me just check if the debug works as intended. The database is stored in %userdata%/youploader |
.removed all databases .add account, but gmail ask me 2 times. both mailadresses and passes was correct .setting up test8 without any categorysettings and scheduled it. .setting up test9 with cat gaming and gametitle and scheduled it. can test more @ thursday ;o) |
It's really weird, it looks like your Java is crashing or locking up as it never "completes" the log, and the next time your cookie is invalid for the metadata updates. this is really weird but gives me nothing to go on. Also asking two times is really weird. Do you have two factor auth enabled on google?
It's easier and platform independent to use user.dir ;) |
So just a heads up, I am going to go through the troubleshooting process and make a video showing the steps I do, if that would be helpful. Perhaps easier than typing back and forth? Or would Skype be easier, faster? I am having the exact same problems as Donzii, with the upload never completing, stuck on metadata, etc. |
The process should not matter, I'm not really sure what is going on since I can't reproduce what happens as (as stupid as it sounds) "it works for me". So unless it is a difference in the google accounts between us I have nothing to go on and essentially no clue what to change. |
So I should stop troubleshooting and try and find another program? :-( |
For now it looks that way, since I don't know what is going on so there is no quick fix. But nobody has told me yet if you use 2 factor auth for google/youtube. |
I do not. I have not experienced any login problems though. Just slow uploading and hanging on metadata. :-( |
used the jenkins-version
next test without 2way-auth, the normal v0.9 |
Not sure why the playlist did not work, no errors shown. Glad the rest works w/o two factor auth. I will have to have a look into it |
fyi i have 2 yt accounts. 1 for testing, 1 for public. |
I also have two youtube accounts...maybe that is the key to the problem? One never used account, that login always defaults when giving programs permission. That could be the problem! I am still hanging about here, because to be honest, this program is my best hope. That is why I donated! I really need something like this to keep me from going nuts trying to keep up with my channel. To clarify, the account I want to use is called a "brand account" and the other account, the main account is empty. This happened, without my really knowing how, when I first setup Youtube. I never bothered with trying to figure it out as I did not want to lose all my brand account content. |
This is a good find, even though I have three channels! Will check it out tomorrow, I'm dead tired! Thanks! Are your main accounts the default channels? Go to YT, click on your icon at the top, click at the cog, click "Advanced" under your name and at the bottom should be
Is this ticked for your main accounts? |
My channel was not set to default, so changed it! God, I hope it fixes the problems, will report back. I would love to get rid of the other, empty channel, but even though I deleted it, it is still there. It is just empty now, no vids. |
HA! Nope, it was for my Brandchannel, who is my Default.
its still on testing on functionality, so dont make you sleepless :D |
Tested: If the upload was set to "scheduled on Date/Time" we cant add it to any playlist. |
The Features brought up here have been implemented in 0.9.2. If issues remain plase open a new Issue! |
YouPloader Version: 0.9
Issue description: Videos are stuck at 0% uploaded on YouTube. http://i.imgur.com/dAkGVRhm.jpg
The "Test" video is the one I am referring to, which has been at that state since the upload finished, about 12 hours now. The video is an .mp4 file that is 18.1 gb.
On the plus side, the issue two others reported with upload speed and that I was also having the last time I used the program was fixed by simply upgrading to 64-bit Java. I am now uploading at the same speed as I was in SJYU.
A bug I experienced: When I put Skyrim in the Game Title field, the upload would not start and I would get this error in the logfile: 06:35:35.467 AWT-EventQueue-0 ERROR at.becast.youploader.util.AutocompleteComboBox Error updating game combo box entries
Lastly, a few requests.
Please attach your %userprofile%\YouPloader\logfile.html and, if necessary, any Screenshots showing the issue to this post
Logfile to dropbox because github is not letting me add a zip file: https://www.dropbox.com/s/csa7fx147540ocy/logfile.zip?dl=0
Thanks so much for your help!
Jessa
