Installation and Set Up
Before you can use MineBans on your server you will have to create an account at minebans.com, the account creation process is quite long since we have to verify your Minecraft account but please bare in mind that it only has to be done once and you can add as many servers as you like to your account.
Once you have registered you can add a server to your account, the IP address of the server should never change. If it does you will need to update it at minebans.com too otherwise the plugin will stop working. Please consider this before signing up since it may make MineBans unsuitable for your server.
Once you have downloaded the plugin from our BukkitDev page simply drop it in your server's plugins folder and start the server. This will create the default config.yml file in the plugins/MineBans folder. The only config option that you need to set is the api-key, this must be set to the value shown in on your My Servers page.
It is strongly recommended that you look at the other config.yml options and set them at values you feel are sensible for your server. The defaults should be suitable for most survival servers, but MineBans allows for very fine grained customisation and you should take advantage of that to get the best protection.
