edit: bullet points from a brief presentation/discussion with DICOM WG 16 on Jun 14, 2023.

  • collect/collate/pass information on metadata desired to be present in BIDS - channel to DICOM WGs. WG-6 could provide guidance with which WG to interact (for different modalities). ATM email to the WG chair (at least for the WG-16 - MRI). Excel spreadsheets is the format for collate/pass might be best.
  • re shared resource -- nothing available ATM, but there is https://www.linkedin.com/in/steve-nichols (Steven Nichols ( steven.nichols@ge.com )) working on https://www.ihe-europe.net/IHE_SHARAZONE
  • some DICOMs groups might be interested to use resource
  • concerns of privacy (best no clinical data) should be paid attention to
  • WG-6 is more overarching group might be worth contacting to since concerned with overall technical aspects, would be good to make them aware of BIDS

edit - TODOs (TODO: create issues per each of those items, reference here):

FWIW, I have initiated google spreadsheet to start collecting issues possibly worth running by DICOM WGs or manufacturers

edit note1: briefly discussed at DICOM WG-16 meeting on Mar 13, 2024

@yarikoptic the IHE Sharazone is active. If you are interested in an introduction, contact me @steven.nichols@gehealthcare.com. You can find some specifics on how the Sharazone works in this article: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/37488323/.

@snichols001 how do you think we could potentially make use of or contribute to IHE Sharazone given its current closed/NDA/pay-for-service design?
