@BCUser12 hey i added the nodes into my bc folder in the %appdata% folder and my bcc wallet still doesnt sync to the network. 0 active connections. |
Follow the instructions EXACTLY in References #19 Look for my post. |
ok sure- i see it says for windows 7...will it still work as well for windows 8 pro? @BCUser12 |
also @BCUser12 -yesterday was the first time i downloaded the wallet..added the nodes..and it actually was syncing to the network. It never finished fully syncing because i had to shut down my computer being it was already late. Today there is no syncing at all tho so i dont understand. |
Just update the file, follow the instructions, and be patient. If you had a connection in the past that's fine. It can take 30 min to a couple hours if this is a new install. Just leave it open and walk away. Check the debug file to see the status of connections. The longer you leave the computer on, the better. Otherwise, you get all sorts of problems. |
@BCUser12 ok cool thanks for the help! |
Note that the original config's files name is something like bitconnect.CONF. You need to cut and paste the contents or replace the file with the same name (not my named file). If you look at the debug file initially, it tells you the file's location at the top. |
@BCUser12 hi, i cant find the bitconnect folder anywhere on my mac. |
on my desktop wallet I havn't seen out of sync whenever I have a installed it. I have a send bcc coin from bit connect.com wallet to bitconnect desktop wallet, but I cant see in coin in desktop wallet, so after sync I can see it..?? |
Usually these files are hidden files. You need to reveal hidden files. I am not a Mac user. The files on the PC are system hidden files. You need to do the equivalent and reveal them. See old Mac threads for help. |
So I have done the port forwarding, i added the config file. and I am still getting 0 connections. When I open the debug window this is what it says. And i did notice also that it keeps try to connect to the same 1 node throughout. Can someone help. Debug window as of right now. "Loading addresses... And it kept trying to connect to this one address throughout "rying connection 198.211.115.116 lastseen=0.0hrs |
Again read the instructions that I posted above carefully. You must update the config file first because some nodes are not working or are overloaded. Once you see connections, then wait 30 min to several hours if this is your first time. Also the program can get easily corrupted or lose files. If this happens, you need to reinstall. How to restore the program when it gets corrupted. |
how would i be able to back up my wallet if the coins havent even get there yet |
If this is your first install and you don't have anything in it, just reinstall. |
this is my first install but I had sent my bcc to the qr wallet before it synced would that affect anything |
no once u sync it the bcc will be there but best to just back up your wallet just in case |
BCUser12 u r a lifesaver thanks so much |
@aaronykc I appreciate the comment. If you see other people struggling please direct them to my references. Most people are in a panic and are not reading things slowly. Also, this wallet should only be used by tech experienced people. I'm a retired IT guy. Other things to consider:
The crypto-world is just crazy! |
I understand that once I sync, the my bcc will be there. but according to @BCUser12 , it will be better to delete the program and start from scratch, so you telling me that if delete the current qt wallet, but saving the wallet.dat even though previously no coin was in my wallet yet; when I redownload and i put my wallet.dat file in there....my coins should still be there |
If you NEVER had coins in the program, there is no need to back it up but if you want to be safe ... back it up especially if you want to retain settings and transaction addresses. If you had coins on the program before, then you need to back it up before you reinstall. If you read your debug file, it said you had a missing file so that might be the issue. How to restore the program when it gets corrupted. After you reinstall, you must update the config file so it can sync and download properly. Scroll all the way to the top and start over. Once you get it synced properly, then you should be able to see your transaction off the block chain. Again, this wallet is NOT for the average user. |
Hi my problem about "OUT OF SYNC" is solve..but my coin still not receive in QT Wallet, what can i do..is someone can help..? Tq.. |
did you chk the status of your transaction? |
im sorry for the back and forth, remeber I did send my coins before it synced...i dont wanna uninstall then have my coins be lost. just trying to be as carefull as possible @BCUser12 |
Then make backups of everything before you do anything major. These programs can get corrupted easily and be infected by malware. Use all of the old threads to assist you. |
thats a screenshot of my bitconnect folder that I just downloaded now...still says im missing a peers.dat file in the debug window,...i havent touched or changed anything all i did was add the new config file that u provided. Im gonna leave it on for a couple hours hopefully i get a connection @BCUser12 |
On a Mac I followed all the instructions and now I am going to have to let it sync for a few hours.. still says "downloaded 0 blocks" and it has been over 30min... is that normal? It has bounced between 2-3 active connections. @BCUser12 thank you for the thorough steps. Questions... I updated my config file last week from an older post and noticed that starts out with this info (this is verbatim what it says.. it doesn't have actual user info entered): Does this need to be there and should I be changing this to some actual username & password? Would that be from the actual bitconnect website? |
I have a Mac 10.10.5 I cannot figure this out and by accident i transferred my BCC from HitBTC but my Bitconnect wallet is stuck on Out Of Sync. I tried adding the config file. Editing the config file. Made the network changes and turned off my firewall. I am completely lost and i am afraid i just lost all my BCC. Someone please help. |
11 hours later and still downloaded 0 blocks. Pulling my hair out. I have done and redone the steps several times. Is there another wallet and is there a way to move the coins there using the wallet.dat? |
@dano812 I don't recognize that RPC stuff. Ignore it. Leave everything as default. Only thing you have to do is update the config file with the new servers. Where you place that file is important. You have to find the hidden files and update that file. If it is not syncing, you probably put the config file in the wrong place. I do not use a Mac so read the Mac Help thread to find the exact location of the system files. I think it is References for Mac users: HELP FOR MAC USERS #59 |
Also, you can see the actual contents of the updated config file at the beginning of this post. Scroll up to the top. I did that for security reasons if you don't want to download the file. Do NOT use any other config file from some strange source. It should only have a list of server addresses. You can build your own node list from scratch using these methods: ALTERNATIVE WAY TO ADD NODES. Select BitConnect Nodes |
@cryptocraxy thanks for the screenshot. I think I see your problem. Note the config file is saved as a TEXT document and NOT a CONF type document. Note after the name it says text on the type. The type of file should be type = CONF. Yes your file is called bitconnect.conf but in reality you made it bitconnect.conf.txt. |
Thanks @BCUser12, I do have my CONF file in the right location but I will delete the odd RC info and mirror what you have. |
@BCUser12 , I shortened the bitconnect.conf file down to the following (nodes that were actually successful) from yours ... immediately upon restart jumped to 6 connections and 4500 blocks (from 3/2 connections and 0 blocks) ... should be fine now; I assume I will be synced in a couple of hours now. Thanks for all of your help! listen=1 Update: 20% synchronized with this file in 10 minutes. |
@tomjack010 I made the change to your list and it didn't work for me. Did you get to 100%? Can I ask what your Network preferences are in the Bitconnect preference menu? Here is a screenshot of mine. I have tried about everything. |
@tomjack010 @BCUser12 Thanks guys! That was it for me! FINALLY starting to sync... 96% right now. So to recap, what worked was shortening the config file to what @tomjack010 indicated and unchecking the SOCKS box in preferences. Although I didn't try unchecking the box with the config instructions @BCUser12 listed.. so that still may have worked, I feel like the big roadblock for me may have been having the SOCKS option marked. THANKS! |
Well it went quickly through the 100% of the sync then started another cycle, so I guess this is where people say just let it go for a long time. Progress is encouraging! |
@dano812 , there was one cycle to sync, then another to transfer coins in. |
hello guys but is there i way i can edit the config file in my folder...because i dont have any application on my phone that can open a config file. |
@cryptocraxy , I was changing the name of it by adding ".txt" on the end ... then I could edit it, save it, then changing the name of it again by removing ".txt" from the end. |
Will this solution work for BitconnectX-QT? I opened an issue on the bitconnectX github, any help would be appreciated. |
SOLUTION = UPDATE YOUR CONFIG FILE!
If your wallet is taking too long to sync, you need to update the config file especially if you just did a new install. It should not take more than 30 -60 min.
I've attached the file here to help you.
bitconnect_config_win_updated.zip
Copy the config file to the data directory C:\ Users \ USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\bitconnect
The original file is called bitconnect.CONF. Rename the updated file to the original name. Replace the contents of the orginal file.
You can cut and paste the servers , replace the file or rename the file. If you cannot find the AppData folder, you may have to Show Hidden Files. Google your specific operating system on how to reveal hidden files.
If you don't want to download the file because of security issues, I'll put the servers below. You will need to copy and paste them into the Config file.
