[Support]: Only getting black screen when watching cameras using default (MSE) (0.13.0-beta2) #8056
Comments
would be good to see the go2rtc logs no one else has reported this issue, also not clear if you are using mse or webrtc when viewing inside go2rtc |
So go2rtc actually only allows webrtc on the streams in question. Here are the logs from go2rtc: This one:
Is interesting though.

what does the url look like when viewing in frigate |
http://192.168.50.41:5000/cameras/back_porch Just checked on windows, chrome and different pc as well, same behaviour. No MSE when clicking on cameras, but debug works fine. |
Weird thing is the eufy cameras and a tapo work fine in MSE. So..unless 2 of my NVR's all of a sudden have issues..i'll reboot them just in case. Nope that didn't do anything. |
I downgraded back to 0.12.0 and i can confirm the MSE issue is gone, i can click all the cameras again and get live video. |
Seems it may only affect very specific cameras or something, I'd suggest specifically using mse for these cameras in the go2rtc dashboard and see if it occurs there. |
Yes i tried MSE in the go2rtc dashboard and it does not work there. Only webrtc works with 13-beta2. On 12 MSE works fine, so not sure what changed.

Then this issue should be reported on the go2rtc repo |
I think it would be more appropriate to keep it here as well.
Go2rtc might not see an immediate need to fix it whereas it seems to break Frigate.

the stream doesn't work in go2rtc, there's nothing frigate can do about it, the fix has to originate in go2rtc |
I realise that, but frigate uses go2rtc, and it thus breaks prime Frigate functionality. Created issue on go2rtc git as well: |
Based on AlexxIT/go2rtc#671 (comment) going to close this as it is present in go2rtc as well and Frigate supports the ability to set the default live view type |
Describe the problem you are having
[Support]: Only getting black screen when watching cameras using default (MSE).
When i flip to debug the camera shows fine.
Eufy or Tapo camera still show the camera when clicked (like it used to for the others)
When i go in go2rtc the streams display but only for webrtc. MSE, HLS or MJPEG do not work.
Is this a memory issue maybe? I tried Safari and Chrome, both are behaving the same.
