I can only test Chrome on iOS 6 on an iPhone as I don't have an iPad as testing device at the moment.
However there doesn't seem to be any problem with file size reporting.

As the file size reporting is a native browser feature, you should file an issue on the chrome bug tracker.

As I've not had any other reports confirming this issue nor a way to reproduce it with the exact device (lack of iPad), I'm closing this issue for now.
However any contribution as a pull request which would fix this issue is welcome.
Else, it might still be a browser or device specific issue, so a post to the relevant issue trackers could be helpful.
