\section intro_sec Introduction

SPoCA stands for Spatial Possibilistic Classification Algorithm.

It's a multi-channel unsupervised spatially-constrained fuzzy clustering algorithm.

It's purpose is to segment Extreme Ultra Violet (EUV) images of the sun into 3 categories: Quiet Sun (QS), Active Region (AR) and Coronal Hole (CH)

\section history_sec History

The software was first developed by Vincent Barra in 2007.

It has been completely rewritten by Benjamin Mampaey starting in 2009, and has been in development since.

It received several improvements, with the help of Cis Verbeeck and Véronique Delouille.
