Licence of the model/vs dataset and potential commercial use.

Thank you a lot for your work to make LLM available in french as it is a real challenge to find models adapted to languages other than english ! This is much needed.

I would have a question about the licence of the vigogne model and would like to know wether it is possible to use it inside a system thought for commercial use ; I saw that the model has the same licence as Llama 2, but the dataset licence is Creative Commons so intended for non-Commercial use only.
As the creator of the model, what do you think about its status and potential use embedded in another application ?

Hi @Dinarque ,

Thank you for your interest! I would recommend using the Mistral-7B based model, vigostral-7b-chat, as Mistral-7B is licensed under Apache-2.0 and is more powerful than the llama-2 based models.

Additionally, since most of the data was generated using the OpenAI API, you need to avoid any potential violations of their term of use.
