Automate issue or PR for point release forward ports

Need to bring release commit with updates to changelog, SRI hashes, etc. forward to the new branch. Making an issue so that I don't forget .

Edit: submitted PR for 3.0.2, leaving this issue for adding an automated reminder or nudge of some sort.

I am a bit skeptical of trying to to full auto-commit these forward ports during the release, but perhaps we could automate issue or even PR generation during the release, to get us part-way there.

Edit: Also need a reminder to reset main in case we don't fully automate that too.
