LIVE from New York...We're building an SNL Character Database, based on the cast members that created them!
At the moment, we're able to create new Members, look at their characters and give Likes based on our love for them. Future goals for this app include: a ranking system, detailed info about cast members and characters alike reviews of the best sketches with that character, and a constantly updating real-time list of the Top 5 characters on SNL.
Models:
SNL Member:
- First name
- Last name
- Year they joined the cast
- Year they left the show
- Image
SNL Character
- Name
- Debut date
- Individual appearances (by guest host & date)
- Likes
Clone this repo as well as the one found here: https://github.com/bolloland/snl-characters-frontend
From this repo (API) in your terminal:
- rake db:migrate
- rake db:seed
- rails s
From the other repo (FRONTEND):
- open ./index.html OR
- right click on the index.html in your side menu and open in your browser.
