Windows 10's acrylic opacity changes the brightness of backgrounds compared to their opaque counterparts, i.e. darker backgrounds become lighter and lighter backgrounds become slightly darker. Aero doesn't work this way, so the skin should change the color accordingly. As another bonus, this will make the skin look better if the glass override color stays at #808080 or something similar, as the difference between the lighter and darker backgrounds is slightly less.

As per some quick math, it looks like the best average background color is #858585, and it looks good on both light and dark backgrounds. I have just updated the arrow images' masks to represent this change in color in transparent modes, and this will be crucial when I implement the automatic background colors.
