Thanks for the great example, I made minor changes to make project compatible with Ionic CLI version 3.4 and node version 8.
the changes are mainly for the dependencies and Components imports. to make the example straight forward using the latest available versions of the frameworks. Now just use npm@5.1.0 to install the latest Ionic and Cordova then npm install and ionic serve as usual will get the app up and running.
