I just switched to Brave this past weekend and have been loving it. As I get used to the new browser, there's one workflow from muscle-memory in other browsers that's tripping me up more than others: editing a search query from the address bare. A common pattern for me is to type a search query into the address bar and hit enter, skim the results, realize I need to update my search query, hit cmd-L, edit search query and hit enter. In e.g. Safari and Chrome, this works really well because the address bar retains the search query after hitting enter. In Brave, however, it looks like the address bar shows the full URL of the search results page, rather than the search query alone.
Please accept my apologies in advance if this is logged in another issue, or is available in a setting somewhere. I've done a search of both, but have not found a way to accomplish this.
Steps to Reproduce
Enter search query into address bar
Hit enter
Look at/click on address bar
Actual result:
Address bar shows URL of the search results.
Expected result:
Address bar shows the search query.
Reproduces how often:
Always; feature request
Desktop Brave version:
Brave | 1.17.73 Chromium: 87.0.4280.67 (Official Build) (x86_64)
Revision | 0e5d92df40086cf0050c00f87b11da1b14580930-refs/branch-heads/4280@{#1441}
OS | macOS Version 11.0.1 (Build 20B29)
Other Notes
It looks like the iOS application already has this behavior, when clicking on the address bar.
