Description

I don't want to grant access to the camera, but do want to grant microphone access. This dialog doesn't seem to allow that.

image

Zoom will actually start with the camera enabled by default, which just makes this worse.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Join a Zoom meeting via the browser
  2. Get the dialog

Actual result:

Allow mic and camera, or nothing

Expected result:

Allow mic, or camera, or both, or nothing

Reproduces how often:

Easily reproduced

OS Linux

Version/Channel Information:

  • Can you reproduce this issue with the current release? Yes
  • Can you reproduce this issue with the beta channel? ?
  • Can you reproduce this issue with the nightly channel? ?

Other Additional Information:

  • Does the issue resolve itself when disabling Brave Shields? ?
  • Does the issue resolve itself when disabling Brave Rewards? ?
  • Is the issue reproducible on the latest version of Chrome? ?

Miscellaneous Information:

There are other issues with Zoom in the browser. I had to go shields down, not sure which settings were problematic, just had to get it working quickly. Switching to another tab and back causes the miniature video views to become blank, you have to scroll through them to fix.

I'm not sure if there's much we can do here if the website requests multiple permissions at the same time. If both permissions are required for the website to work, then I imagine it would be annoying for users to get two prompts in rapid succession.

@ShivanKaul how about having checkboxes next to each requested permission, checked by default?

Yeah, that would work.
