Description

When "Aggressively block fingerprinting" is enabled on https://www.google.com/maps, zooming in/out using the scroll wheel or trackpad becomes choppy.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Go to https://www.google.com/maps
  2. Make sure "Aggressively block fingerprinting" is enabled for the site
  3. Try zooming in/out using the scroll wheel or trackpad gesture

Actual result:

Zooming the map in/out is choppy

Thanks for the report. We'll be marking this as wontfix to be solved in a different issue. We're updating the settings so you and others don't run into issues like this.

What is the solution?

The temporary solution would be to open the Brave Shields menu while you're in Maps, expand "Advanced controls", and change "Aggressively block fingerprinting" to "Block fingerprinting".

None of the fingerprinting options do anything. Zooming is still a jittery mess.

Adding my findings since this issue is still open: Strict fingerprinting blocking also seems to break google docs and google sheets. It's fixed when I put the setting back to "Standard".
Version 1.52.117 Chromium: 114.0.5735.90 (m2 chip).
