I use mysql_thread_id in the mysql gem (connection.thread_id) for debugging purposes (related to locks). Could we have some way to fetch mysql_thread_id from mysql2? (querying for "select connection_id();" works, but it would be nice to have the same interface).

I don't see any harm in adding it, I'll try and take care of it tomorrow
