Summary

A significant portion of our users are students and one of their main needs is to be able to share the model they are working on with teachers or tutors. It could be to receive feedback or to ship it as homework. In order to make their life easier we want to introduce a option to public share a model. This means (as MVP) a user can generate a link with view only capabilities that can be shared publicly.

Desirable output

  • A way to generate and copy a public view only link of a model
    • From model edition page
    • From list of models page
  • A way to unpublish this public link in order to revoke public view only access to the model
    • From model edition page
    • From list of models page

Deprioritized:

  • A visual representation for items with view only public access
    • From model edition page
    • From list of models page

To be defined

  • [NO] Will we keep timestamps of editing actions public?
  • [MAYBE LATER] Will we allow embedding of this link somehow?
  • [MAYBE LATER] Add easy to share options (Ex: Share via email, twitter, Whatsapp, etc)
