Currently the 'i' icon is a way to see the content block in isolation from the page. In practice, it seems like a very non-useful use case, as viewing Text/html blocks by themselves means loosing the styling associated with that page.
The button is probably unnecessary, and is likely to cause confusion for most non-tech users. Clicking on it is probably an error,as the primary thing users want to do is 'edit' a specific content block.
