I mostly added this out of confusion on #119 and how it failed the build. I wanted a minor change that wouldnt cause a build failure, but it still seemed o have caused a failure.

Yeah, the build failure was caused by a 3rd party library update that broke the build for Python 2.6. I've updated the configuration and the build should pass if you pull from master.

I'll close this pull request -- editor-specific ignores can live in a global .gitignore file in the home directory.
