Currently it's not obvious which checkbox has focus if you are navigating via the keyboard (tab) as the checkboxes have no visual style when they are focused.

I was messing around with Material Design Lite and I noticed they use an extra span as a focus helper for "upgraded" checkboxes. So I'm making the assumption we'd need to do the same to get a decent focus style.
