Is a post-processor required for gcode generated by FreeCAD?

As an example, here is a GRBL post-processor: https://github.com/fra589/grbl_post

I'm not familiar with the gcode implementation differences, but if its useful here's a GRBL post for FreeCAD: https://github.com/fra589/grbl_post
