Frontend Nanodegree Arcade Game

This is one of the projects in the Udacity Frontend Web Developer Nanodegree Program. This project is to showcase the student's Object-Oriented JavaScript and HTML5 Canvas skills.

Intructions on how to play:

Game mechanics:

  • Reach the water without colliding to bugs!
  • The player can move left, right, up, and down (arrow keys)
  • The enemies move in varying speeds on the paved block portion of the scene
  • Once the player collides with an enemy, the game is reset and the player moves back to the start square
  • Once the player reaches the water, you will start the next level
  • Higher level means more bugs!
  • You got 3 lives (hearts)
  • Try to collect gems that will appear randomly
  • Collecting a gem will decrease the number of bugs (only if bugs are more than 3)
  • Try to beat your previously highest level achieved

Extra notes:

The game engine and image resources are provided by Udacity. The game logic is coded by the student.
