After being acquired by Amazon, are there any plans to change the license of Cloud9? If so, can you provide any details? I've been following the development of Cloud9 for almost 2 years. The restrictions placed on it in v3 dissuade me from investing much time into making contributions because I cannot use it at work.

The Project seems to be abandoned...
Lack of updates, lack of activity on Issues :/

Commits are still happening. The main question is whether or not Amazon will transfer the project to an open source license for faster adoption by the dev community. A few products exist out there now that are in direct competition to Cloud9.

Maybe it's time for community to create => c10Ide . . .

I did not know these two!

che -> Is based on Theia -> so Monaco
koding -> They use Ace but promote the use of our own IDE

It's really time to create a Cloud10IDE always based on ACE, completely open source to have several alternative.

CodeMirror is in full rewriting and is rather promising!
CodeMirror.next
No need to remember that Mozilla made the choice of CodeMirror ...

Monaco is not very extensible and integrable without huge work, but it has the strength to be rather complete

Ace must stay in the race, and Clou9IDE was the showcase of what can be done.

But I fear that after the passage of Amazon things will close gradually

But i am sure that with words things are so easy, in first place my words ...
Unfortunately, I can not claim anything from the lack of competence I have in this domain

Here a list of other Cloud IDE

This issue is not the best place to start comparing other IDE's. I created it to give the original developers of Cloud9 a chance to respond.

Sorry for the disturb !
It was not a comparison, it was a way to show that others are moving !

I am just afraid to lose something i love !
So yes i, also, need to know what will be the fututre of Cloud9 and i really hope more opening and becoming more perfomant that it is.

Today you can have an open source and ready to use cloud ide with Visual Studio Code with a lot of ( very numerous ) contributors.

Again, it's not a comparison !
