ARDUINO SCRIPT FOR RECEIVING BUTTON INPUTS OVER I2C AND PUBLISHING VIA MQTT

Features:

• Single Arduino to read 96 inputs from MCP23017 IO expanders and publish events to MQTT.
• Sends MQTT payloads as JSON formatted string for easy parsing within your favourite automation software.
• Simple config.h file to edit your network and mqtt details, with main code ready to go without modification.
• Configured to allow for multiple controllers.

Expected payloads

On (re)connection to MQTT broker:

{event: reconnected, ip: ###.###.###.###, controller: #}

On button press event:

{controller: #, button: #}

On heartbeat:

{event: status, ip: ###.###.###.###, controller: #}
